Have a girls night that you are hosting soon and wondering where to start? Don’t worry, I’ve got you. Here’s how to host the perfect girls night!
Matching pj’s
Matching pyjamas is the first step to having the perfect girls night.
They don’t have to be expensive, look at your local Primark or order online from Amazon!!
Why matching pj’s?
Even if you aren’t having a sleepover, getting matching pj’s will instantly make all of your girl friends feel comfortable and cosy.
And, it’s something that they can take away from this girls night as something to remember!
It could also be a tradition, that whenever there is a girls night among all of you, that you wear these pyjamas! Which reminds you of all of the amazing girls night you have had!
A fun activity
So you’ve invited all of the girls round, now what?
You need a fun activity to do, that you all enjoy. Maybe you could choose a different activity each time, or maybe it could become tradition to do the same activity each time.
Examples:
Watch movies
You can’t go wrong with watching a good movie. Get the best movies marathon depending on your taste, and get cosy.
There’s something so nostalgic about watching movies with your friends. It’s like childhood sleepovers!

Make food
You are most likely going to be eating anyway, so why not all make the food together?
It doesn’t have to be super fancy food! And with everyone cooking together and helping each other, it could make the food turn out better (or worse lol).
The main thing to remember is, you’re just creating memories with each other. So even if the food tastes horrible and you have to order a takeaway, it’s something you can laugh about later!
What to make?
- Pizza. You can either buy the dough pre made and just add the toppings (that way you can’t go too wrong). Or you can make the dough from scratch!
- Pasta. Who doesn’t love a good pasta! And it’s not too hard to make!!
- Fruit salad. If you aren’t feeling like a full meal, fruit salads are amazing.
- Charcuterie board. Sometimes making full meals can be stressful, but gathering bits and pieces that you can snack on is a lot easier, and just as delicious!
- Grazing table. You could gather all of your favourite foods, and add them together!! It could be mini sausage rolls, mini burgers, mini pizzas, etc.
Painting
I you don’t have to be artists to enjoy a fun painting night!
And it doesn’t just have to be on a canvas either!! You could paint mugs, plates, glasses (obviously make sure the paint is safe to be eaten on lol).
You can find loads of inspiration for what to paint on Pinterest, and even bouncing ideas off of each other!
If everyone has a different aesthetic it would be cool to see all of the paintings next to each other. And if you all have the same aesthetic, it they will look so good next to each other!!
Board / card games
There is nothing more wholesome than playing board games with your friends!
Everyone could bring their favourite board game each, and you could take turns playing everyone’s game!
Board games you could play:
- Twister
- Monopoly
- Cards against humanity
- Connect four
- Pictionary
- Charades
- Jenga
Pedicures
I know that getting pedicures or painting your own toenails, does not happen as often as getting a manicure / painting your fingernails.
So give your toes some TLC and paint your toes together.
You can either give each other pedicures, or do your own (I know some people don’t want to go near anyone else’s feet lol).
I can go months without painting my toes, because they are barely on show, so this is the perfect time to do it!!
Why not leave girls night feeling like a fresh, new version of yourself?
A whole page of nail inspo / colours are here if you want to have a look! (http://bigsisterera.com/nail-inspo/)
Face masks
Taking care of yourself on girls night. Could it get any better?
Either you, the host, can supply all of the face masks, or every individual can bring their own. (I know acne prone girlies do NOT want to be putting just any face mask onto our face!!)
Even better, you could make your own face mask. (Again, acne prone girlies may want to research the ingredients before hand – I know how it can be)
Whichever route you decide to go down, romanticise it! Get the cucumbers on your eyes, play some music, and realise that every movie you see where the girl friendship group is sitting with cucumbers and face masks on… that is your life right now. You are literally in a movie!!
Deep chats
I think the best girls night’s have some form of deep chat.
Whether that is talking about each others goals, friendships, relationships, etc.
Your true friends will always have your best interest at heart. And especially if you don’t see each other very often, this is the perfect time for everyone to debrief and see how your lives are going.
Getting new perspectives from all different angles, especially when you know your friends are looking out for you, makes anything you could be worried or stressed about, seem a lot smaller.
What could we talk about?
- Your goals. Having little updates with your friends about your goals in life shows how much you grow as people. It also means that you could become closer to your goals, because you know that you have the best support system around you.
- Your relationships. Whether it is good or bad stuff, talking to your friends about your relationship is very therapeutic. Although they may not offer professional advice. The advice they do offer will have your best interest at heart. Also, if your relationship is going well, why wouldn’t you want to tell all of your closest friends and swoon about it?!
- Your friendship together. Talking about how you all became friends, your first impressions of each other, why you like each other, etc, will bring you all closer together. It is so nice to hear all of the qualities your friends think you have.
- Planning future girls night’s / trips. Why not use this time to plan upcoming girls nights or girls trips. You can look at all of your schedules and plan to book that trip you have all wanted to do. I’m sure at least one person in the friendship group will be good at managing money, so they can teach everyone how to save for all of these trips you are planning.
Thank you for reading <3
I hope you feel better prepared for your girls night, and can look forward to having the best time!
If here is any other fun activities or things you include in your girls night, feel free to share it in the comments!
