The lighter nights are coming which means there’s more easy date ideas! You’re not crunched for time, and the weather is getting better (well, a little better in the UK).
I have ideas for when the weather is good, and when it get’s drizzly, so there will be options for anytime during spring!
1. Cafe dates
There’s nothing easier than a little cafe date. Who could say no to coffee / tea and a cake?
This is the perfect opportunity to dress up in a cute but casual outfit and romanticise it!
Whether this is a first date or you’re in a long term relationship, cafe dates are perfect.
If it’s a first date, it’s in a casual setting, so there’s not intense pressure. As well as this, it doesn’t have to be super long if it’s not going well. But in the same light, if it’s going amazing, it wouldn’t break the bank to get another drink.
If you’re in a long term relationship, what a perfect way to get a cute outfit on and just spend time with your human. Cafe’s are perfect easy date ideas to spend quality time together, talk 1-1, maybe even plan your week together.
2. Museum / gallery dates
If the weather is a little rainy, this is the perfect time to explore a museum or gallery.
Whether that’s an art gallery, a History museum, a food museum (whatever it is you like lol) I’m sure there is something you would like to explore / learn more about.
I always think couples look so cute when they’re wandering around a gallery together.
It’s again, quality time together, appreciating nice things.
I think museum dates are perfect for couples who have been together for longer. I think it could be quite intimidating for a first date. Then again, I have never been on a first date to a museum / gallery so you’ll have to let me know if you have and how it went.
It’s also another opportunity to get dressed in a casual but cute outfit, because I know I have definitely been wearing comfy clothing during this whole winter period lol.
3. Beach walk / overlooking the beach from the car
If the weather turns out good, a beach walk is perfect. I can guarantee the weather isn’t good enough in the UK to sit and lay on the beach, so a beach walk is perfect to still enjoy the beach.
If the weather doesn’t turn out so well, try to find the best car parking space that has the best view of the beach so you can enjoy it from the car.
Bring some food, or maybe buy some food and enjoy it from the car with some music!
This is perfect if you don’t want to dress up too fancy and you want to stay comfy and chill in joggers.
4. Hiking / Long walk
Keeping to the theme of walking, if you really enjoy walking and staying active, why not make it a date.
Hopefully the weather stays sunny and nice for you, because once you’ve committed to the walk, you’re kind of stuck. But getting wet in the rain isn’t the worst thing to happen, and it would make for a memorable date!
This is the perfect date to get out your best active wear that you feel really confident in, and flaunt what you have!
It’s also great for solely 1-1 quality time together! You can’t really go on your phone when you’re walking, so it’s time for loads of conversation!
5. Outdoor cinema
If you love watching movies, but you feel guilty for wasting the warmer weather watching a movie inside, take the movie outside!
There’s outdoor cinemas that are already set up, or you could literally bring your iPad outside, create an outdoor tent and get really cosy!
This is another perfect date if you aren’t wanting to dress up and are wanting to stay in comfy clothes.
This is perfect for a first date, as well as if you have been together for a while!
6. Play outdoor sports
Whichever sport you can play outside, tennis, badminton (if it’s not windy), bike rides, etc.
Again, if you love to be active, playing an outdoor sport for a date is perfect!
Honestly, it’s such a cute idea to have fun, not take yourself too seriously, and see how competitive you and your date is!
Maybe the loser has to buy dinner afterwards?! 😋
P.s. all this talk about sports is reminding me of the new movie with Zendaya in it, called challengers. It comes out the 26th of April… maybe if you don’t like sports, you can watch sports lol. Let me know if you like it when you see it!

I hope this post gave you some inspiration and easy date ideas in spring!
Whether you’re going on a first date and need some ideas, or whether you’re in a long relationship and are running out of ideas, these are perfect for you.
I think the most important thing to remember, no matter what you decide to do, is to just have fun!
I know it’s cliche to say, but the main point of a date is to have fun, get to know the other person more, and be 100% yourself.
If you are going on a first date and are nervous or unsure of what to look out for, I have a whole blog post on first date do’s and don’ts! (http://bigsisterera.com/first-date-dos-and-donts/)
